Ariana Grande officially kicked off her petal era with “hate that i made you love me” and i really love her tone on this. it feels more mature and lived-in, and sonically it fits the aesthetic of the album so well for me. excited to sit with the rest of this project and hoping for more rnb. also was really surprised to see we’re getting a second album from WILLOW this year ‘petal rock black’ was already one of my favorite albums this year. her first single “Talk On The Hill”

Ariana Grande surprise released the 10 year anniversary edition of ‘Dangerous Woman’ with “Knew Better Part Two” officially getting released after floating around online for years. i love the updated version she put together for this release, it feels nostalgic while still adding something new to the era instead of just reuploading the album again. still really enjoying where Charli is heading with this new era. i love this more laid back sound from her, it’s somehow calming

the songs i’ve had had on heavy rotation recently. Kelela continues to make some of the most immersive electronic / rnb music out there. “SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS” has been on repeat since 2020, it has that hazy indie sound i always appreciate, and Ariana surprised dropped a tenth anniversary edition of ‘Dangerous Woman’ today and made “Knew Better Part Two” hit even harder years later. still one of my favorite deep cuts from her. “Crawl” by Richie Quake has probably been my

Drake released three different projects last night, so i’m still sitting with all of them, but “Fortworth,” “Little Birdie,” “Stuck,” and “Prioritizing” were some immediate standouts on first listen. also really loved the new releases from Tove Lo, Dua Saleh, GIVEŌN, Rostam + Clairo, Nick Hakim, ANOTR, Shakira + Burna Boy, and Kaleena Zanders. and of course Gaga finally released the MAYHEM REQUIEM live album through Apple Music.. if you don’t have Apple Music, definitely watc

Kelela might have my favorite release of the week with her new single “linknb”. these first two songs from her upcoming album have been incredible so far and she somehow keeps refining her sound without losing what makes her music feel so immersive. it sounds futuristic, emotional, and a little cold.. it’s everything i love about her music. Charli xcx also dropped her new song “Rock Music” and it sounds like something that would work in an album tracklist but not a lead singl

all of these have been on heavy rotation for me recently. Temper City released their first single “Self Aware” earlier this year and i’m really excited to see what else they have coming. “KGB” is ADÉLA’S most recent release and she reminds me a lot of slayyyter… she’s such a student of pop music and you can really see her influences in everything from the choreography to her vocals, she’s definitely on track for a breakthrough this year. “Self Aware” - @temper.city “E-Pro” -

New Lady Gaga, Madonna / Sabrina Carpenter, Madeon, The Black Keys, Zara Larsson, Isaiah Rashad… Gaga is back with 3 new songs in The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack… my favorite of the three is easily “Shape of a Woman,” she just knows how to write a catchy chorus. Madonna officially released her first single from ‘Confessions II’ featuring Sabrina Carpenter in a super catchy disco-house inspired song “Bring Your Love.” Love Spells dropped one of the prettiest bedroom pop son

Foo Fighters also released their new album ‘Your Favorite Toy’ somehow this was my first full run through from them, and I definitely wanna circle back to it. 𓇳 my top 10 2010s indie pop albums of all time
This is part 2 of this genre, focusing on 2010–2019. This list was really hard to narrow down. the 2010s shaped so much of my taste, every album in this list is one i still revisit constantly. This was the decade where indie pop stopped feeling like a niche.. albums were pulling from synth pop, dream pop, electronic, r&b, even funk, but still holding onto that emotional, slightly off-center core that makes the genre what it is. A lot of these albums feel like worlds of their

ROSALÍA, Nine Inch Noize, Olivia Rodrigo, John Summit, Slayyyter, Jessie Ware, Adela, BNYX, Not For Radio… 😰 ROSALÍA added a few new songs to an already great album with LUX (Complete Works), really feels like a proper extension of this era. ADÉLA dropped a slick electronic pop song “KGB” still can’t get over the music video for this, put her on every festival stage rn. Nine Inch Noize’s hybrid project carried that same energy from their coachella set into the album, part li

★ amy winehouse appreciation
at a time when pop was predictable, Amy brought something unique and timeless. her voice carried the weight of classic jazz, soul, and rnb, but the way she delivered it had such a clear point of view and passion behind it. a reminder that personality, imperfection, and individuality still had a place at the center of music. no one sounded like Amy then, and no one has since.

my top 10 2000s indie pop albums
𓇳 my top 10 2000s indie pop albums of all time indie pop is one of those genres that’s really personal to me. it’s the kind of genre i grew up on in middle school and high school, so it just takes me back to simpler times. it sits right in that space between alternative and pop where it’s emotional but not too polished with soft melodies, alt textures, but still something you could move to. this is part one of this genre, focusing on 2000–2009. this era laid the foundation f

WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA by Slayyyter
𓇳 album review _ issue 13 this feels like the version of Slayyyter that’s been building over time. the production is insane. it’s industrial, electronic, and hyperpop all colliding at once, but never losing control. there’s clear DNA here too. from Britney Spears, Crystal Castles, Boy Harsher… but it still feels entirely her own. swipe through for my full review + playlist on Spotify and Apple Music 💿 ♫ overall rating: 9.3 / Essential
