2016 was such a major turning point for music that you could still feel its impact through 2017. a lot of artists were taking bigger creative risks as a result, genre lines were getting blurred, and the top three albums especially defined the year in completely different ways. I ranked 57 albums again for this list and narrowing these down was painful. there were so many records from this year that shaped my taste and are still just as exciting to revisit now. a few albums st
