Madonna’s return with Confessions II completely exceeded my expectations. I was expecting another great dance record, but what surprised me most was how vulnerable she is. beneath all the production, there’s a real sense of reflection and acceptance that makes some of these songs hit much harder than I expected. after spending most of last night with it, I genuinely think it’s going to end up being one of my favorite Madonna albums.
La Roux also returned with Babyline. it’s nice hearing her back in that synth-pop lane again. if you loved ‘Trouble in Paradise’, i think there’s a lot here to be excited about.
Justin Bieber also dropped ‘SWAG LIVE FROM COACHELLA’, with official live versions his week one Coachella set. Rico Nasty, Jon Hopkins & Imogen Heap, Sienna Spiro and a lot more rounded out another great week.
