Olivia Rodrigo’s new album ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ is obviously the biggest release of the week. after one full listen, “expectations”, “stupid song”, “my way”, and “what’s wrong with me” are my favorites rn, but what always impresses me most is her songwriting. her albums never feel bloated or overstuffed, every song serves a purpose and contributes to a larger story. there’s a level of care put into the songwriting, production, and overall aesthetic that makes each release feel fully realized from start to finish. quality over quantity ✍️

Interpol is also back with their second single, and they sound as sharp as ever. it has that classic Interpol sound i grew up loving. hearing Daniel sing got a huge pop out of me.. if this is any indication of what’s coming from the album, i’m already excited.

i also liked Bebe Rexha’s new album ‘DIRTY BLONDE’, which has a lot of fun dance-pop songs, a good album for summer.
