Ariana Grande officially kicked off her petal era with “hate that i made you love me” and i really love her tone on this. it feels more mature and lived-in, and sonically it fits the aesthetic of the album so well for me. excited to sit with the rest of this project and hoping for more rnb. also was really surprised to see we’re getting a second album from WILLOW this year ‘petal rock black’ was already one of my favorite albums this year. her first single “Talk On The Hill”

PinkPantheress is a production mastermind! she started out producing her own music on GarageBand in her bedroom. she has such a distinct way of making pop music by mixing UK garage, drum & bass, alt-pop and early 2000s dance into something instantly recognizable as her own sound. her songs feel effortless, but there’s so much detail packed into every second once you really pay attention. these are some of my essential PinkPantheress songs: “Just for me” “All My Friends Know”

Ariana Grande surprise released the 10 year anniversary edition of ‘Dangerous Woman’ with “Knew Better Part Two” officially getting released after floating around online for years. i love the updated version she put together for this release, it feels nostalgic while still adding something new to the era instead of just reuploading the album again. still really enjoying where Charli is heading with this new era. i love this more laid back sound from her, it’s somehow calming

Kelela continues to make some of the most immersive electronic / rnb music out there. “SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS” has been on repeat since 2020, it has that hazy indie sound i always appreciate, and Ariana surprised dropped a tenth anniversary edition of ‘Dangerous Woman’ today and made “Knew Better Part Two” hit even harder years later. still one of my favorite deep cuts from her. “Crawl” by Richie Quake has probably been my

Drake released three different projects last night, so i’m still sitting with all of them, but “Fortworth,” “Little Birdie,” “Stuck,” and “Prioritizing” were some immediate standouts on first listen. also really loved the new releases from Tove Lo, Dua Saleh, GIVEŌN, Rostam + Clairo, Nick Hakim, ANOTR, Shakira + Burna Boy, and Kaleena Zanders. and of course Gaga finally released the MAYHEM REQUIEM live album through Apple Music.. if you don’t have Apple Music, definitely watc
